I booked an appointment at the NE Portland location. First time doing a 1 hour facial and I had Sam. She was amazing my GOD. She treated my face like a canvas, i was touched with passion and care. Most relaxed I've felt in years. She made me feel like I'm living again. WELL done SAM and i hope there are MORE SAMS like you in every Hand & Stone location. Just phenomenal! You need a facial? Go book with Sam if you want to feel alive.

From the beginning of booking the receptionist sent me more than 3 to 5 confirmations via email and via text. This is my second visit to this facility where the receptionist was new or in training and didn’t know how to check me out when my massage was over.Although I appreciate the confirmation emails and text messages I don’t think one customer needs that many. You can go back and look at my records to confirm exactly how many text messages and emails I received.

There were a few missteps during my visit. I was booked for 2 appointments and had to get fully clothed to go between the two appointments and also was not told of up charges for one of my appointments, and the up charge for my second appointment was listed on the receipt as more. The whole up charge thing is a huge reason why I do not come back to H&S regularly.

The overall experience was great. However, I was overcharged $60 ($50 on my appointment and $10 on my daughter's appointment). I didn't realize it at the time of checkout. When I got home I went over my receipt and discovered the error. Had I not looked over my receipt I would never have known and it's just a bit unsettling that that big of an error could be made without the staff catching it. I called the location and they ran a credit of $60 back to my card. The other issue is that I found the appointments online under the "last minute deals" offer for $59.95. I wanted to make appointments for my daughter and myself so I called to ask if they had two spots available at 12:45 under the "last minute deals". She said they did have two spots and that she could book them over the phone for me. When we checked out we were charged $69.95 for the facials. When I questioned the price I was told that I could only get the "last minute deals" price when I book online. I explained that I only booked over the phone because the person offered to do so when I called in to ask about the availability of two spots at 12:45 under "last minute deals". I got a credit back of $10 for each appointment.

Rebecca and Aricka made me feel right at home. They are very knowledgeable about what they do. Also, we’re extremely friendly and positive!

See prior comments about linens and table comfort level. Would have liked a deeper pressure during massage but otherwise it was great.

Easier payment options would help, it sometimes takes 15 minutes after the massage to figure out all the payment. Also would appreciate Not paying a $10 transfer fee to let my husband use one of my credits.

The service was great And the esthetician was wonderful but the brand Dermalogica did not really do my skin much justice. I did the hydration mask and it did not hydrate well as other products I have used like Jan Morin, CyMe or DHC.

I was neutral towards both the receptionist and therapists. Both felt distant, and not very personable, friendly, or nurturing. The experience wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t great, and certainly not exceptional.
