Friendly service

The hotel looks really nice on first impression but it quickly becomes clear that this is an older hotel. For the most part the staff is exceptional and friendly. I had a hiccup with my room and another person was assigned to the same room while I was already in it. The person working wasn't very friendly or even apologetic about the situation and instead attempted to shift blame and ask why I was in the room. The next morning, I called and spoke with the supervisor Lorraine. She was apologetic and sympathetic to my upset she assured me she would address the behavior with her employer and made sure I knew that this a a real rarity. She offered me some breakfast the next day as recompense and told me to pick them up at the desk when I came back that evening. There wasn't a note or anything at the front desk when I arrived however the really friendly woman working said she would immediately address it as soon as she could grab the supervisor on duty. (He was busy handling another guest issue that was definitely more pressing and immediate) I told her to take her time and I was going to run some stuff up to my room. In my room I found a handwritten note from Lorraine apologizing for the previous evening, her cell phone number and some unexpected treats. The handwritten note really made me feel valued. I went back downstairs to tell the woman at the front desk that everything has been handled, she had already secured the expected Breakfast voucher and told me to go ahead and use them.
