I've used this hotel many times in the past, never had an issue and when I would check out I knew I would be coming back again when in the area. This time that was not the case. There was an issue with my credit card, the front desk person asked me if I had a different card I could use. I told him that I did not but I could pay with cash. He then informed me that even if they accepted cash as a form of payment they would still need a working credit card so they could put a hold for the amount of the room. I stood there shocked for a very long minute and asked the gentlemen, So paying in cash is not an acceptable form of payment? And having just found out that my credit card is having issues which is insane, your now going to tell me that if I don't have another credit card I can not check in to a hotel that I stay at once if not twice a month while in Portland for work. He said that he was sorry but those are the rules.
