In March of this year (2017) I came in for a new set of tires, alignment, and oil change. During the tire install it was brought to my attention that there was an issue with my struts. The tech lowered the car and pointed to the top part of the strut mount. He then reached under the car and wiggled it pretty generously. I gave my ok to fix the problem and then they proceeded to take 2-3 days to get my car back to me with the fixes. Our total bill for that trip was around $1,500. I assumed that my strut problem was fixed. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago. I again took my car in to get an oil change and an alignment check. We have the 3 year package on alignments. During the oil change they called me back to look at the car again. Again the tech reached under the car and wiggled the strut moving the mount on top. He proceeds to tell me that I need new struts. I told him I had just had them replaced here at Big O and he says that he hadn't looked at the vehicle history. He then tells me that it must be the mounts and they need to be replaced. He had already run an estimate on how much that would cost including the struts that had already been replaced. When I questioned him about the problem being exactly the same as before and that it obviously wasn't fixed his words were, "It's complicated to explain." It's complicated? No it isn't. When you replace struts you can buy two packages. One package comes with just the struts and is suitable for lower mileage cars, but this car had well over 75k miles when they did this repair. So they should have quoted and bought the full package with the rubber and the spring at that time. The movement they showed me clearly pointed at the rubber at the top of the mount being bad, but it wasn't replaced. Why? I have talked to a few mechanics since then to confirm what I had already believed. Big O messed up. I've been a loyal customer for more than just a few years. I have had multiple vehicles serviced there and bought several sets of tires. I'm willing to overlook this fumble if you are willing to make it right, otherwise I will just no longer being doing business with Big O. I would like you to warranty out the struts and replace the mount as should have been done before. This includes the labor. I would also like my brand new tires I bought at the time looked at and checked for abnormal wear due to the failed fix and replaced under warranty or at your cost. I feel like I am being more than reasonable with this request to retain me as a customer. Thank You Chris Carlson (417)230-2587 Carlson042305@gmail.com

Went in for an alignment. They checked and said everything was in specs and that a simple rotation was all that was needed. I was expecting to pay for an alignment and left with the problem resolved and no money out of my pocket.

I don't think I will be back, went in for an oil change, I was there for 2 hrs, had a diagnostic, which to be honest, takes a minute to do, if I would of had my own at home, it would of taken no time at all, when the diagnostic came back it was an oxygen censor, well ok I said, he said we'll do it for 100 dollars, I said no thank goodness, because there are 4 of those censors, and most likely your team would of lead me down the river that day, they are 77 dollars a piece at O'Rielly's , so labor would of gone up just by me sitting there, and more cost, I he would of been honest and told me at first I might of considered it, the whole time I sat there every single person was upset with the wait, some had appointments too, and sat there, there is a lack of customer service there for sure, I am a woman, and am offended by this not so great company, you guy's need to tighten your store in Hollister, MO, very upset about this, thank you for the opportunity to tell you my experience

Big O in Hollister Mo always has great service. I feel like they go above and beyond in letting you know exactly what needs to be done with your vehicle. I go there for all of my vehicle needs!

I gave this visit high marks because it did ultimately turn out this way despite the chaos at the time. Tammy made everything good (again). I hated to see Russ gone, but was comforted to see Tammy behind the counter juggling multiple problems and making it all look easy. I'm just a customer (over 10 years thow) but you should really think about letting Tammy run this place. It is obvious to ANY regular customer that she's been running it defacto for many years anyway. Had she not been there this last visit, I'd have had to be looking for a new tire store today. Good tire stores are hard to find so I hope you get this one ironed out soon.
